Leaping Lizards Magic DVD Learn the secrets of the Fumanchu Bag Escape

The effect is direct. The performer invites an audience member to examine a cloth bag made from a single piece of cloth, with seams sewn completely on each side. The performer asks to borrow a jacket, or alternatively takes some prop or other garment with him, as he steps INTO the bag. (Could be done with your assistant if you prefer, but I always preferred being the one in the bag.)

The bag is gathered at the top, and a wide piece of cloth is used to tie the top of the bag shut. The top end of the bag is then held by the spectator as a tube curtain is raised around the bagged performer. The top of the bag is ALWAYS in view however, as i t is held by the spectator and droops out over the side of the front.

A fast three count and the bottom of the bag comes flying over the top of the curtain! At the same instant, the curtain is dropped and the performer is standing there, having almost instantly penetrated the bag! This was my closer for years and appears in Tarbell as the Fumanchu Phantom Bag Mystery. It was performed by Doug Henning Years ago.

Howard Adams 666 Mentalism

I have had a lot of inquiries about if we will be releasing most of out other titles, and the answer is Only if we owned it outright. A few titles Leaping Lizards did own outright, but most were licensed where we published them and paid authoers for each sale. When Leaping Lizards Publishing closed, the rights to the books we did NOT own outright reverted to the authors to do with as they pleased. This is one we owned outright as toward the end, Howard wanted to make sure his work would live on:

Howard Adams has been around for a LONG time, and his specialty is self working and mathematical magic and mentalism effects. I have no idea how his mind can generate these kinds of effect with this much variety, but create he does.

In this book, Howard has created 66 self working packet effects using 6 cards each. (thus the title, get it, 666 Mentalism?) Each effect is explained in Howard’s straight forward, no-nonsense and to the point fashion and we have left them as he wrote them word for word.

I think often, people ignorantly poo poo self working magic because they don’t understand it. It is true that you will find NO sleight of hand, no finger flinging and no hard to do gaffs in this book. Instead you get 66 (Plus a few extra bonuses) simple effects and plot outlines that can be done 100% in the spectator’s hands! Many of these do not require the performer to touch the cards at all. Some could be done over the phone or through the MAIL. I know of several performers who have used this kind of magic over the phone with radio DJ’s heard by thousands and thousands of listeners! To the listening audience, you could read minds or predict an outcome that you have NO WAY OF INFLUENCING.

Super Simple Q and A

Why a Fairy Tale? Well, Q and A is the most powerful psychic routine, some say... But, is it, and how can it be, and what is the SIMPLEST way to do Q and A.... The answer to these questions and more is in this little monograph.

A small 12 page booklet, this gem offers one of the simplest versions of Q and A that allows you to know the NAME of the person who wrote a question, and their exact question. You also have this information BEFORE you step onto the stage and have time to read through all of the questions and formulate the best possible answers before you stand before your audience. If you prefer, you can also wing it, getting the information right in front of everyone moments before you answer their thought of question.

No Stooges. No Impression Devices. This also addresses the issue of dead time while people write and collect questions. There is NO DEAD TIME! No collecting questions in envelopes IN FACT here is what it looks like to the audience:

The performer steps forward and asks the chairman or host of the evening to stand; He or She is to correct the performer if anything he says is incorrect.

The performer explains that he holds in his hand a stack of cards with names (Or a printed list if you prefer.) These names were given to the performer by the chairman or host. The names are of people attending that evening who have agreed to participate in a demonstration of mind reading. Each of those people is thinking of a personal question, something they would like an answer to regarding their lives or futures. The performer has not been allowed to talk to any of those people, and their questions have not been shared with ANYONE. The Chairman/ Host confirms that all that is correct and places a sealed envelope onto the stage.

Within the envelope are the written questions of the spectators in the audience. The Host confirms that they have not been out of his or her possession and NO ONE, including the host has read any of those questions since they were sealed within the envelope. The host has not shared or communicated the contents of any of the questions in ANY WAY with the performer or anyone else. He has ONLY provided a list of names of those people.

That aside, the performer runs through the stack of names, asking one of the people to stand. Then, with PINPOINT accuracy, the performer is able to read their minds and tell them the exact nature of their question. Following that, he offers his psychic impressions of that question in all seriousness, or perhaps somewhat tongue in cheek.

In an alternative presentation, the spectators do not reveal their names, so they are free to ask more intimate questions.

This little manuscript teaches this Super Simple method, explores the challenges and weaknesses of Q and A, and more.

A must for those in search of the perfect Q and A routine for them!
